Might just be my screen but the focus seems a bit soft on the head, point of focus seem to be the rock it's sitting on :shrug:

If you can sort out the sharpness and a bit of an exposure lift that's going to look really good. The expression is fantastic!

I have re-edited lightened and sharpened the first one and just sharpened the second one

I think the sharpness looks better on the edit but the big bright area of sky is now too much of a contrast to the actual meerkat for me.
