Chonon 1090c Flash gun

I didn't know whether to put this in here on in equipment.

I have one of these from back in my film days and I was wondering if it would work with Dslr.

I have read somewhere that a lot of the older guns can do damage to the newer cameras due to the trigger voltage, this was not a problem with odl slrs as it was a mechanical trigger :shrug:

Anyone have any advice or know of anywhere I would be able to get further info from.

Cinon 1090c is listed as having a dslr bursting 180v trigger at http://www.botzilla.com/photo/strobeVolts.html

Should there not be a sticky on 'DANGER! Old Flashers and digital cameras' ?

I'm sure that Chinon were only available from Dixon's - it was their own exclusive brand. Not a particularly useful piece of info, but it may help you in researching specs?
