At Peterborough Cathedral you have to pay to take photos.Last week was the case, at any rate

I was sure it was free, maybe not.. I much prefer Ely, though. Well worth the annual pass. Again, as above.. I'm donating to the upkeep of the building that I get pleasure from, not the religious organisation that I also have issues with - although I accept that it gives others solace and peace of mind. To take pleasure from the building and not contribute towards its upkeep would be to me, selfish.



I usually use a Sigma 10-20 for interiors with a tripod and HDR (usually 8-12 exposures at 1-stop intervals), but the first one is a plain old 17-85 kit lens and a grab shot as I was packing up to leave.
