Hi, well i took my new camera too a bike show and someone spilt beer on it!. Everything 'seems' ok, no evidence that its any different from before apart from viewfinder looks a little blurry and i thought i had trouble focusing it but i took a few shots and seems ok, im assuming it has to be weatherproof to some extent??.. i have took the lens off and all looks clean in there, and the body isnt sticky etc but you can smell the beer slightly, i was wondering if anyone could give me some advice on cleaning the viewfinder and body, or is it just a straight forward damp cloth and an ear bud.
Sorry if this has been posted before, and if its in the wrong place of posting i also apologise!.
Many Thanks
Beck

For the body, I found that wipes you buy to clean car dashboards work well  never done viewfinder so no idea

A damp face cloth will work fine. Use a moistened toothbrush to tease any major crap or sticky residue out of the textured rubber grips and from around the controls.
For other dry dust and dirt, use a 2" paintbrush.

Thankyou very much, i will give it a go. muchly appreciated.

Most of the surfaces will clean up just fine using what the guys recommend. The only parts that need any kind of special care are the optical bits. Don't use anything abrasive basically. For the eyepiece you can usually take off the surround either slip off or a small screw to get it off and clean with a cotton bud and a lens cloth and it should be fine. Give all the glass a bit of a breathe on and a wipe with a lens cloth.

some of these wipes contain "Armourall" or equivalent to make the dashboard shine and smell nice

damp cloth and brush IMO - see Arkady

Thankyou everyone for all your advice.. im off to clean up! Lol. thanks again
