I generally use disposable Zeiss wipes, the kind moistened with isopropanol (not the alcohol-free version):

I like the old Pentax Supaclean microfibre cloths, but they are becoming hard to find. The later ones were also branded 'Hilco', and cloths under this name are still available but I haven't tried them.

I use Zeiss lens wipes (or similar) to get rid of oily or greasy deposits (fingerprints, motor-sports oil film, steam rally smuts, etc.) then a gentle going over with a new or newish genuine Lenspen and a 'huff' of breath if needs be (and a blower brush to get rid of any 'powder' residue when using a brand new Lenspen). Touch wood, I've not scratched a lens element or a filter (yes, I said the F-word just then!) with that combination yet. I dislike cloths as they can pick up tiny bits of grit, etc., which go unnoticed until you plough a furrow across the lens coating. As for a T shirt, that's for wearing, not for cleaning lenses with!
