Hi,

Well, hired a canon 400mm f5.6 lens for a few days to see how a prime lens works. Although a slowish lens and the weather has been poor I was impressed with its performance for the price (If I buy one). A few of the pictures are shown below.

Guy, some lovely shots ... however you have some strange blockyness in the background of the first and third, I am sure this is down to the settings when you reduced them for posting.

They are both around 50Kb, if you aim for around 200Kb you will get a much cleaner image (y)

Hadn't noticed the blockiness before - but I see what you mean. I will check file size next time.
