cobra falsh with 350d?

will my cobra 450 flash work with the canon 350d? have i asked a really dumb question

No, its not a dumb question - some older flashes will fry newer digital cameras.

I remember seeing a list somewhere that set out which flash guns worked with which cameras - no idea where it was - have a google for it. I do remember that some Cobras were off limits and others were ok - you'll need the specific model number

There's a list of flash trigger voltages here.

It doesn't list the Cobra 350 but it's easy to measure the trigger voltage with a basic meter.

Presumably you mean using the camera hot-shoe?
