Hi all,
Having just splashed out a couple of hundred pounds on a Lee Seven5 filter set for my Micro Four thirds system, I was think about filters for my full frame Nikon D810 and D750 cameras. Yes, I know that a full set of Lee or Hitech 100mm filters will be the way to go, and maybe I will in a while when I have the money, but for now, I was looking at what I had left over from my APS-C days, to tide me over until then.
I basically have a couple of Cokin P size filter holders and a raft of adapter rings from 77mm downwards, and a number of filters from Cokin, Kood and SRB that I've gathered over the years including ND Grads, Polariser (Cokin), Sunset and Twilight filters. All the filters are in great condition so I though I'd try them on my D750. Using my Nikon 24-120 F4 VR (which is attached most to the bodies), as expected I'm getting severe vignetting at 24mm, and it just about disappears around the 28-30mm mark.
I'm pretty sure it's the filter holder I'm seeing, and noticed that Cokin (and many other knock off clones) do a "wide angle" P sized filter holder with just one slot. As these are only a few pounds, I thought I'd give one a punt, but whilst waiting for it to arrive was wondering if anyone had given it a go and can comment it the wide angle holder would work on a full frame lens as wide as a 24mm, or am I just wasting my time trying to use these ?
