A friend of mine needs a quick focus and low shutter lag compact maybe a bridge camera. Any suggestions budget around 150.

I've just upgraded from a Canon Powershot Pro1, ..only because i managed to damage mine,old now mind (5-6 years since launch) absolutely brilliant camera though, you can pick the odd one up on e-bay for about a ton.

Still the only 'prosumer' camera ever made with an 'L' series lens...2.8 at that, If you can find one...you cant go wrong :thumbs:
 
Looked into this a few years ago and found that sony seemed to be ahead of the game in that department at the time. If you look on cameras.co.uk at the camera reviews, you will find that shutter lag times are listed and there is a shutter release comparison table, just had a quick look on there to make sure that it still existed, but did not look in detail to compare, but have a look and see if it is of any help.

The missus had a 6mp Cybershot that was lightning - great camera, think it was a wsc15 - black thing, a bit retro. I smashed it into a tree when skiing.... Shame.... Was brilliant for grab shots because it had quick startup.... Her current Lumix is pants in that respect but does good images....

I had/still have a Canon A1100is which was quite good. But I'll probably sell it now that I got my DSLR.
