I'm a complete novice at photography (and probably always will be... 
) but i hope my honest impressions of these photos help.
#1 tilting hoses on the hill
#2 the boat at the front seems to be the focus of the photo, but the orange of the fishing boat behind seems to steal my eyes, and the blue tranny van.
#3 nice pic, works well
again these are just honest opinions and feel free to stick a finger up if you don't agree.

You're right! Funny how you don't notice things when you look at them for ages. All fixed now, hope it's better!
Thanks all for the c&c, much appreciated. I did take these when i was very new to photography.
I think the B&W works best and detail in the pic when you blow it to 100% it quite amazing. That Sigma 17-70 is a superb lens!
Yes, shame about the crane. I'll see if i can get rid of it. I'll be back! Back to lightroom i go
