Nice captures. Not a cranefly though, looks like an Inchumen Wasp of some kind.

Hi Alliec
It's deffo a daddy long legs as we call them in the UK. We get millions of them at this time of year.
Their bodies are much slimmer than that of the Inchumen Wasp and their legs much longer, the ones we are getting just now are small ones but in a month or two we will be getting the much larger ones.

I have always known these as Daddy long legs.
Body is about 1 inch long with each of the legs being around 1 and a half inches long.

Nice shot though Craig but you might have to eat a bit of humble as regards ID mate :D :D

Nothing unusual for me there John, thats how im so fat just now eating all that pie.

Jesus, even up close it looks horrific.

It really is my most hated insect ever. At least insects like spiders, ants and flies look graceful and majestic when they're taken with a macro lens.
