Crashing Time @ Honda Powerboat Championships, Liverpool

I went to the Honda Powerboat Championship event in Liverpool on Saturday, and on the 1st lap there was a bit of a coming together. I was on quite a slow shutter speed, 1/200th, for when the camera helicopter was in the frame, so there is a bit of blurring, but you get the feel of the thing. Nobody was hurt as far as I know.

Yes, quite dramatic, and they don't wear seatbelts.

Yeah...but id personally rather be thrown from a fast moving boat than dragged under water when it sinks!

Believe me that, as a 15 year veteran of Powerboat Racing Rescue, it's far safer to be strapped in!

Drivers/Navigators are trained yearly to escape from overturned cockpits.
