So here is a curio, rediscovered on my travels today, but I don't expect to fool anyone with this, assuming you are either old enough, or simply able to recognise obscurity in something...

Anyway, here it is, though I didn't actually do a wide angle shot of the complete article, just a section of it.

Exif:

Camera Make: Canon
Camera Model: Canon EOS 450D
Image Date: 2009:11:23 22:23:06
Flash Used: No
Focal Length: 105.0mm
CCD Width: 4.18mm
Exposure Time: 0.600 s
Aperture: f/5.0
ISO equiv: 200
White Balance: Auto
Metering Mode: Spot
Exposure: aperture priority (semi-auto)
Photographer: Copyright www.pauliddon.co.uk

So do you have an idea of what it really is?

Paul.

Haha, I thought knife sharpener too. It is indeed very nice. It's kind of, "messy", in a good way :D

It's a cool shot. What lens did you use?

It's weird (but nice) how there seem's to be different depths in focus, does there not?

I think thats down the the fact that the jaws are staggered and not on the same plane. But its a great effect though.

A well used knife sharpener (I know... late to the guessing party ;))... Very nice shot, really good textures and the DOF effect on those wheels.

As ever, you spot the image in the unlikeliest of places! Great shot - I was lost in guessing.....
