I have read a couple of posts discussing the benefits if any of paying out top money on manufacturers grips rather than picking up after market ones off ebay and the likes. Looking into this I can see there is a huge difference in cost, there is also I would expect good aftermarket units and bad ones! Question is how can one tell?

I have had a look around and they range from £40 up to £80, can anyone recommend a manufacture from experience? also where to buy, is ebay the only place to go for these units?

Cheers....Kevin.

me too - the Link Delight one and the battery you can link direct to a plug in charger rather than getting ripped with the nikon one (same as the d2 charger/battery) works great - the 8fps is lush!

If you want a plastic grip just to hold an extra battery and give you somwhere to grip with your pinky, get a 3rd party model. If you want a grip made from the same alloy as the body of your D300, with the same degree of rigidity for tripod use, get the Nikon one.
