D300 Shooting Warm?

My college tutor has remarked that my shots taken on my D300 all looked a tad warm!. I remeber reading on Ken Rockwells site something about colur vibrance and wondered if I should be looking at adjusting mine

Are you shooting raw/jpg? Do you have the White Balance set on auto?

Any example pictures?

Shooting in Manual, raw , white balance to suit conditions.

Does your tutor shoot Canon? I'm just wondering if there is a slight difference in the what he/she's used to. Personally I noticed that Canon can be a bit a bit on the blue side (nearly said cool but I thought that might get the Canonfans a bit over excited).

If you are shooting manual and RAW then you shouldn't have to adjust your camera at all. Just tweek it in PP. Each tweek should depend on the differing conditions when you took the photo. Sometime you may want it to look cool and sometimes you may want it to look warmer.

There may also be a difference between the monitor you are using and your tutor. Are either calibrated or simply using preset values.

The " a tad warm" is a rather vague term. It may simply be the difference in personal preference. The only way to decide if both of you view the same image on the same monitor and decide if it's personal or hardware related
