D5100 with high speed flash sync

Hi, after some feedback on some images I wanted to try OCF with my D5100 for action shots. I've found out that Nikon have not included this item in the firmware!

Has anyone else found a way to trick the D5100 into having higher speed syncs?

It has been suggested that some wireless trigger may succed.

Think wireless triggers or a sync cord are the only answers I think. Needn't cost the earth and more useful than Nikon's Flash commander in some circumstances, particularly outdoors.
