Just had an email from Nikon to inform me of a new firmware upgrade for the D700
A 1.04 and B 1.03

I got it too.
Apart from adding the new 800mm lens (which I won't be getting. lol) what else is the update for?
 
I was just wondering the same thing.
I can't see myself getting the 800mm anytime soon, but what else does it upgrade?
There seems to be no other information on the upgrade.
Guess I'll do it just in case.
 
I send the original post from my iPhone and could not get the reasons for the new firmware up on the phone screen, but just looking at it on my pc I see like you that it appears only to add support for the 800mm which is totally out of my league so will not bother with the update.....I though there may have been more to it than just that!!

Anyone noticed any difference. On one of the other Foto forums one Guy thought the AF was faster but this may just be a personal thing
