I have been looking into get a new camera and hope to make a decision next week but its a tough decision and was hoping you could help.
I have been contemplating the D5200 or the D7000 but given the price of the D7000 and with it being a more enthusiast model I am almost keen to go with this.
I am also aware that because the D7000 has a built in auto focus motor, I could use non-auto focus lenses like the 50mm 1.8D. I am no expert on the build in auto-focus stuff so please clarify this for me if I have mis-understood and if their is anything else I should know about this then please tell me.
The D5200 has the swivel screen that I like and a higher number of pixels which could be useful given the cropping that I do. This camera also has a couple of scene modes including built in HDR which I might find useful built it's hard to say.
I want to make the right decision here, the D5200 is also a more recent model, I don't know if this is really important or not.
To clarify my position I have built up quite a good knowledge on photography very quickly so I don't consider the need for all the helpful user interfaces like on the D5200 but I don't want to out-grow my camera too quickly.
If you could give me some information on the pros of the on-the-top LCD screens that would be good.
