Hi everybody, I wonder if anybody could tell me or push me in the direction of an easy instruction on how to update the firmware in my D810?

Thanks for reply, Maybe I need and idiots guide to, it never seems to work.
 
Which bit are you struggling with?

Not looked at this one but it is usually a case of downloading the update to the SD/CF card, inserting in camera and selecting the relevant option in the menu to update. Location of downloaded file is crucial.
 
Sorry I have just re read the nikon instructions, and I saw the bit I was missing about the sd card has to be formatted, thank you all for help.
 
It just has to be a normal card that you are currently using to store your pics on. You don't necessarily need to format it especially for this task
