D90/Miranda flashgun?

Hi all.

Advise please......well i picked up a Miranda flashgun (630 CD) boxed with filters from car boot for a pound and iv tested it with my D90 and it seems to work ok BUT im abit concerned i may damage my D90 using an flash gun from the days of old...

Please advise.......

According to the manual the D90 can take a trigger voltage up to 250V. Check here to see if your flash is listed:

If not, get a multimeter and measure the voltage across the flash contacts yourself and keep your fingers crossed!

That's because it's referring to a Canon limit of 6V - they've measured the Miranda at 8.14-8.3V, so it looks like you should be OK.

I think its great and nostalgic you can give the old toys a chance in this digital world and do the same job.
