I'm an electronic engineer, so if it was mine I would take it apart and determine what was wrong, especially at the replacement cost. Unless you have dropped it on a tiled floor recently, nothing much should happen to the electronics. I suggest you get some lighter fuel on a Q tip and reclean the battery contacts, if you have some 600 or 1200 grit emery, also give them a rub with that.
