Decision time at last :D

guys after my b'day i have now got 500-600 to spend on a digital slr. (1st one cant wait ). this means the d90 i wanted is out so i have the choice of either the canon 500d w 18-55mm lens or the nikon d5000 w 18-55mm lens. the nikon is a bit cheaper so i could maybe get another lens(is tamera anygood (would take the deal in jessops maybe)). so which one should i get???? want to buy tomorrow

i bought an a300 and twin lens kit, its around £400 now so you can still get a 50mm f1.8 and a camera bag, mem card etc.

Unless you specifically want the 500D video capabilities, have you thought about the 450D (see link below) or poss a 2nd hand 40D ?

second-hand D90 should just about scrape in under the top end of your budget...

Failing that a second hand D200 or D40 should leave you a bit of money for some decent third-party glass (or a nice prime).

well i went out and got a nikon d5000. now if the battery would hurry up aand charge i could have a look at it lol
