Definitive compatibility list for FF

Hello

Does anyone have a link to a site that you can check to see if your lenses are compatible with FF cameras? Ive checked out lenshero, but dont really believe/understand it's results. For example it says the 35mm dx nikon lens is compatible, and the tamron 17-50mm too, but Im sure they aren't.

There's 'compatible' and 'compatible', for example the D3S (and others) has a mode whereby fitting a DX lens will automatically change it to a crop mode setting, so that gets it to be compatible when a DX lens is fitted, whereas without that mode it wouldn't be.
However I'm unsure whether or not that only applies to Nikon lenses as I don't have other makes to try.
 
In a nutshell...

Nikon Fx bodies can all be used with Dx lenses and can be set to automatically switch to Dx mode when they're fitted. Nikkor Dx lenses are marked Dx; Sigma's equivalent is DC (their FF lenses are marked DG); Tamron designate their crop only lenses as DiII and (IIRC) Tokina have borrowed the Dx moniker. If in doubt, ask the seller.
 
True, Im in the same quandry as most D90'ers thinking do I step up to the 600 or stay with crop and choose the 7100... wanted to see how many lenses I would have to replace. Im guessing both the tamron 17-50 and the nikon 35afs would have to go, but to my knowledge the Tamron 90mm and the nikon 70-300vr can stay in my collection?
 
Ok, so looking for a wideangle lens the Sigma 12-24 DG is a better long term bet than the 10-20 DC? Theres £150 difference in price but I guess "buy right buy once"
 
The 12-24 Sigma is indeed a full frame lens and is sharper than the 10-20. IIRC, the 12-24 is one of their EX range (better than the non EXs apparently) and it's also exceedingly well corrected for rectilinear distortions (exaggerated perspective is a result of the laws of physics and can be corrected if wanted in PP). As with all lenses, if at all possible, try the actual lens you intend to buy before handing over the payment...
