Can some kind soul tell me what the difference in sizes is between A3 & A3+.

Chris :)

Thanks for that hypnotic. (y) I looked all over but could only find the sizes for A3.

Chris :)

A3+ is ... 329mm x 483mm

A3 is .... 297mm x 420mm

Hi hypnotic,

I know A3 = 297mm x 420mm, because it was formally adopted as part of the 'DIN' system ('Deutsche Industrie Norm' = German Industrial Norm) in the early sixties. It is still a very valid system. In fact, it's adoption is still expanding, strongly, replacing the Imperial and American systems.

I don't know 'A3+', '329mm x 483mm' according to you.
Who 'set' those dimensions? What 'system' is that a part of?

No idea what system it is part of .... ... Just know the size.

Probably similar to A4 foolscap. Somebody wanted something a bit bigger

HP do a 'B+' size (330mm*483mm). I guess its just one they made up.

I assume A3+ and B+ are the same thing, i.e just a bit bigger than A3. Probably started out as a marketing ploy, although there is actually a B and C series of sizes - See Wikipedia.

I think it's an American thing. Also known as Super A3. Google it.

As Mohain says it mainly a US size. In "old money" it's 13 x 19 inches. At a guess I'd say it enables you to get a 12 x 18 (inch) print out of it.
