I spotted something odd and took a look. The fly was hanging in the web and the spider was crawling around on it. The spider was only about 8mm long including the legs.

Taken using my 55-250 with Raynox DCR250 and home made flash ring adapter with my 300AFD

That spider must think its christmas :D

Excellent capture, gives me the shivers a little, was the fly still alive?

Not that I could tell... at least it wasn't moving...

Nice shots John (if somewhat gross :))

I wonder how long that keeps the spider fed :)?

Cheers John... it's just nature... and nature can be quite gross I guess...

Not that's an interesting question.

Once it's got the fly nicely wrapped up it can suck its innards out................:puke:

Great shots(y)........that DIY flash adapter of yours really does the biz(y)

Thanks for the embellishments on the detail Keith :puke:..

Cheers, the flash I have limits it's use to dim lighting conditions only, the flash has no control, but....

Eeeeeeuuuuurrrrrggghhhhh
I've got a bit of a phobia about spiders and those shots have definitely given me the shivers - lovely and sharp and clear.
I could almost say too clear. I can actually see more than I think I really want to ;)

Sorry about that Sarah :D, thank you.
