Purchased a sony 16-80z from David on here today, question is now, do i keep the tamron 17-50 2.8 or get some money back for it ?

the camera does not come out that often but do i really need the 2.8 for indoor or flash assisted shooting ?
 
Why did you buy the 16-80? What's the advantage if you already had a 17-50mm f2.8?
 
If you need the money sell it.

If you don't do a lot of indoors sell it.

If you are likely to need it for low light indoor shooting sell it and get a couple of primes (50mm and 35mm for sony would cost you about the money you would get from selling it ;) )

you have a good walkabout lens (Zeiss) and primes can do much better indoors than the tamron :)

Good question. The tamron 17-50 is a great little lens. I doubt you'll find the 16-80z all that much better, if even so. I don't like to double on focal lengths.

You probably would have been better to get an 85 prime.

But, since you bought the 16-80, you obviously really wanted to have it. Sell on the tamron and get a nice prime, or maybe a 105 macro? No point in having both IMO.
 
got no interest in macro, sold my 90mm a few weeks after i got it, also have the sony 50mm 1.8 in my stash so i may as well flog the 17-50

have been hankering over the 16-80 for a while tbh

will see what i think when i have them both! if i dont like the 16-80 i will flog that instead.
