Dodgy 55-250mm?

Yes
I bought a 55-250mm IS lens a couple of weeks back and I noticed today that there is a certain 'blob' on every photo with that lens (not others). I looked into the lens (and cleaned it) but the 'blob' seems to be on the second element. I don't want to risk taking it apart so what should I do? I could just get rid of it on every picture but I don't really want to do that either. Is it reasonable to ask Canon to replace it? If not, might they be able to fix it somehow?

Any advice is appreciated!

Thanks :)

Since it is only a couple of weeks old, i would say a replacement shouldnt be a problem. take it back to the retailer who sold it you

That's the problem. I bought it online. So do I take it back to Canon? Apparently, the customer services for that store are terrible. Pics coming in a mo...

Legally, your first port of call is the retailer. If you bought it online you may also find it's not a UK lens, depending on who the seller was. If that does turn out to be the case Canon wouldn't fix it under warranty anyway.

Here are just three pics: (Btw, I know it's disgraceful that I fly with Ryanair...)

Good point about not being from the UK... but, they seem to be based in the UK:

Ok,couple of things...

Firstly, that looks more like dust on your camera's sensor, not on the lens and secondly, if it's from Camerabox it probably will be a US lens, so the warranty is with them, not Canon unfortunately.

The mark is on the sensor not the lens.
a mark on a lens is not brought into focus, so you could not see it.
Many lenses have dust in them, it is only a problem in extreme cases and only slightly degrades the image... never shows as spots.

I had actually just read that as well... So what should I do? Camera is now '3rd' hand and I don't have any original documents or packaging that came with it...
