Does anyone have a camera that's always with you?

Many phones allow you to use one or other of the volume buttons for taking a photo. I can hold mine with the volume buttons at the top right so all that's missing is the viewfinder. Well, I say "all" but the fact that I can post-process on my phone if I want makes up for shortcomings in other areas. Also, a bumper case can go a long way towards fighting the slipperiness.

A 15 year old Canon IXUS in the going for the papers backpack and a Sony R100/3 for all other times. Very occasionally use a phone but only as a last resort should the batteries have expired in the IXUS cameras as I carry a spare for the R100.

One of these is always in my pocket. They're not perfect but much better than nothing...

I don't ... I have the iPhone but don't really think of that as a camera.
I would like to have one actually but don't really need three ... small, cheap and a good zoom would be useful.

Just got myself another Nikon 1 V1 and had forgotten just how versatile it is ... goes with me around my neck or in my cycle pannier bag. :)

I have an old Panasonic GM1 which goes in my jacket pocket when I'm not carrying any other camera. It's just about pocketable. Normally has the 12-32 zoom on it but I'll occasionally carry the Olympus 9mm bodycap as well.

I used to carry a Fuji XP70 as a sort of indestructible go anywhere camera - but it really wasn't good enough a lot of the time - if the ISO went past 400 in low contrast conditions the images were pretty mushy.

I got a Canon EOS M10 thinking I'd use it as a good small camera to carry around, but it doesn't have a view finder and I'm never really happy with the images.
I did once have to use it as my main camera on a trip to Norway because my 6D had gone for repair.
I still have the M10 but don't use it much if at all. If I'm out with the intention of taking photos, I always take the 6D, the number of lenses I can depends on what I think I want to photograph.
I often carry the 6D in my backpack just with 1 lens in case I see something.
I might sell the M10 and get a Sony RX100 as something that is genuinely smaller and still has good manual controls, etc.
My phone is the Samsung S10e, which I picked for it's camera and size. It's good, the jpgs are nice and the raw files aren't bad either if I want to edit properly. I also quite like the wide lens on it.

They say "the best camera is the one you've got with you" or something like that. I have a fairly bulky Nikon D610 and a few lenses, which I'm obviously not going to take everywhere with me. I often end up taking really nice photos with my phone - by nice, I mean, compositionally etc. (and by 'nice' I mean photos that I'm happy with!) but somewhat lacking in image quality. I've been thinking about getting a compact camera, like a used Fujifilm x100 .

This isn't about recommendations of a specific camera, rather I'm wondering how many people have second, smaller cameras that they don't leave the house without?

As a bonus, what is your favourite image you've taken with your 'take-everywhere' camera, that you wouldn't have taken if you didn't have the camera with you.
As most of you, my Phone, I am really happy with my POCO F1 by Xiaomi (Google camera installed) and for social sharing I could take several pictures I am happy about.

Last week I picked up a forumite's X100S and I'm now training myself to keep it with me all the time. Part of the reason is to try to imprint the 35mm PoV on my brain. So I'm shooting all sorts of non-keepers as I wander around. (Hopefully a few keepers, too!)

I'd tried with the RX100ii and GRii previously, but I need a viewfinder.

Yes! I always have a camera with me :)! When I don't want to carry the big ones, I have either my Canon Ixus 105 or my Panasonic Lumix TZ55 in my pocket!

Lumix GX80 with 12-32mm. Can't get on with using a smartphone as a camera

Ricoh GR3 miss a viewfinder but so small and image quality is fantastic

Panasonic LX100 it comes with me everywhere I go. I also have a TZ90 thats currently at panasonic for the dreaded dust issue. I have a weak neck (broke two vertabrae when I was younger) amd carrying a backpack full of DSLR kit all the time aggravates it.
