Does anyone use a Nikon 70-200 vr1 or vr2 with a 2.0 (Version III) teleconverter?

As per above? Do you lose much in IQ with this? Thinking of having this combo rather than a 70-200 plus 300 f4, something like a sigma 150-500 etc...

Ive owned it and used it on both versions of the 70-200mm, needless to say i dont own it anymore, its OK but just not good enough to warrant the cost, much better the 70-200mm with the 1.7x

all these shot with 70-200mm MKI and 1.7x on a D3S http://gcsports.zenfolio.com/p227000053

Thanks Gary, I know the 1.4 and 1,7s are better, but would really have liked the extra length. It means it could be a 70-200 for everyday stuff and for airshows (where I normally shoot prop aircraft so generally (f8-f13) where a 2.0tc would turn it into a 140-400 f5.6 lens which would be ideal. Other option is just to get a cheaper Kenko 1.4 and use this with the 300mm.
