I got a better shot of the hoverfly (one of 3 or 4 buzzing around the garden this afternoon) just a few minutes before we had an April shower!

Light was reasonably controllable this time, being more diffused due the the incoming weather, and this hoverfly is in the middle of having itself a quick clean - both the rear legs had been lifted off the laurel leaf during this spell of activity, you can just see the rubbing together of the rear legs in the actual leg cleaning, hence the twee thread title...

Used a blip of fill-in flash to lift the hoverfly & leaf from out of the shadow areas among the leaves of the laurel.
