Bit of an odd one this........

Well I cannot work it out.

Bought the Senna Blu Ray DVD which has the blu-ray DVD, normal DVD and a digital copy to copy to PC or smartphone.

Followed all the destructions etc to copy the digital to the micro SD card which was plugged into the PC, selecting Windows media player instead of Itunes (for obvious reasons)

Put card back in the phone, bing bang, bosh, select videos and i can find it as a .wmv file (supported by the phone / software) but trying to play comes up with....

Acquiring license
Sorry, license acquisition failed.

I inputted the necessary security code when loading to PC, and have since made a further copy to HDrive of PC and that works fine through media player.

I can see O2 blaming Samsung, samsung blaming DVD makers and DVD makers blaming O2.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Not sure you can just copy it to the memory card, I think you'll need to sync through media player with the device that way if you can with an android device.

Personally I'd be tempted to rip it using makemkv and/or handbrake.

That's the way I had to do my max Payne bluray as the code had expired.

I'll give it a shot neil, though I can promise any mods / admins, my copy of Senna is strcitly kosher - i can provide a pic if required....... just the gigital copy doesn't seem to want to play with android.........

It is a grey area regarding ripping purchased films..

Do a makemkv on the bluray disk (just select the largest chapter, no need to do the lot) and it'll throw out about a 25gb file. Then run handbrake on the file and select the profile on the right that closest matches your device.

Or rather than handbake you can use ripbot to compress the file down, I get 25gb rips down to about 7 at best quality so for a mobile device and selecting the correct profile and demuxing the sound to stereo you should get it down to 2 maybe

handbrake?

tried ripping it to makemv5 and it doesnt like that

oh and no blu ray reader other than a ps3 , so i guess I need to go to HMV and throw toys!

Use dvdfan to rip DVD

Use handbrake to encode for phone.

Works perfectly

Btw they are looking at the copyright laws with regards to ripping etc. at the moment to bring us inline with everyone else.
