Taken at a local nature reserve - help on the ID would be appreciated and any C&C is more than welcome:

I know they are all a bit samy so here is my carp effort at getting the whole thing in frame:

The yellow stripe on the legs suggests its a Common Darter (female?). Personnally, I don't think the use of flash helps as dragonflies are very reflective. It also causes dark backgrounds due to the rapid fall-off in illumination at close distances. Try increasing the ISO instead. Dark backgrounds can look unnatural for dragonflies as they are sunlight-loving insects. #1 is my favourite.
