My goal for today was to get my first dragonfly shots at my garden pond. Good as gold a Common Darter turned up at 12:30pm - I don't know why but the same happened last year, they always turned up around then. Here's a couple of shots:

The sticks I've placed in the pond specifcally for the dragons to perch on, makes getting clean backgrounds a lot easier :)
 
Don't know how you guys do it......I had a walk in the garden yesterday and watched bees flies etc and they never stopped still for more than 5 secs or so.

Reckon you lot smear super glue on the leaves/branches etc.

Nice shots, as per mate. I must admit, I picked up the old stick trick from watching an episode of the 'really wild show' strange where you learn these things eh?

really very cool, i can never get good shots of these guys, i need a macro lens!!!
