not bad nik but i think you could have improved these in photoshop or other.
slightly overexposed a tweak in levels as well would have brought out the colours not bad keep at it mike

Agreed. Not sure why they are overexposed though. #4 is a cracking shot, especially if you can tweek the density as dinorock suggests.

This is a Red-veined Darter. I would be interested where you saw it.

weird, I work on an iMac (with glossy screen) & they look fine, just opened this thread on my laptop (macbook pro) and your right they do look really over exposed, i'm

will edit them on the mac.....
