Perhaps the sky, especially towards the left side, is a little dark?

Sky is that colour because the grey clouds mid-channel with worse coming in from the left.

I adore rough sea's, have thousands of pics of them, probably way too many.

Nice capture Tom but it does not have the same pull for me as your Icelandic beach.

I would say that this image is quite opposite to the Icelandic beach. This is quite an aggressive scene whilst the Icelandic beach is a very peaceful reflective scene. The level of daylight between the two images is quite opposite - here its harsh and light whereas the Icelandic beach is quite dark and moody.
