Dust Specks In Lens

I have found a sigma 70-200, that I have been after for a while, for sale on ebay but in the description it says it is in perfect condition but for a couple of dust specks inside the front element.

Should I be concerned about this or not? Whats the likelyhood that this will affect it's performance in anyway?

IME a few specs of dust in a lens (inevitable in the long run) will not affect the image or performance in any way.

Thought this would be the case, but I have to be sure. Never spent this much on a lens before and I just wanted to make sure I wasn't making a mistake.

There is also a link on here (somewhere :shrug:) which shows how to remove the front element on a Canon lens I seem to remember, if the dust is bothering you, but as has been said, a few specs of dust won't effect the quality of pictures :thumbs:
 
Well having looked at the state of that lens I am no longer worried about any amount of dust whatsoever!

Think you should be fine, just when dust gets on your sensor that you should be worried!
