My old monitor packed up recently, so I found myself a DELL 17" tft with the trademark "UltraSharp" on it !

It has a VGA input on it, and a DVI input.

Now, I know very little to nothing about the workings of a PC, but if I got a graphics card with a DVI connector on it, and connected my monitor up with this instead of the VGA, would I notice any difference.

I dont do gaming at all and only use my PC for browsing and photo editing.

Is it worth me getting a new card ?
 
More info here. Seems some people actually favour VGA even though DVI is the newer technology. I use DVI, but that's because my graphics cards only have DVI outputs (I can have 4 monitors lmao).

EDIT: sorry, should have said. I've never used VGA, only ever DVI. Except when connecting my laptop to my PC creen, but that's with a VGA to DVI adaptor cable.
 
I've never noticed any difference between the two so unless you're getting problems with the image I'd stick with what you've got :)
 
Maybe that's it then, DVI is better for larger/higher res displays?
