Dynamic range

How do I work out what the dynamic range of my camers is? I have read that digital cameras range from 5-9 stops but I'd like to know exactly what range mine has.

Thanks for the link but what I'm after is a way to measure the dynamic range of my camera or any camera for that matter.

I'm not sure why you want to know this and I don't have the foggiest idea how you'd ascertain the numbers for a particular camera. RAW processing though, is what enables us to capture the cameras hidden dynamic range, which would be denied to us in 'normal' processing.
