Got a loan of Mikeyb's lens as he away on holiday to Rhodes(lucky sod), mind you he has earned it. Got a call from a friend who had the owl just outside his garden, unfortunately flew away when I went but landed about a 100mtrs away and these two are the result.

Well caught, I like the first shot, on the second the background being brighter slightly distracts me.
 
No your right, but beggars can't be choosers and he doesn't stay around if you get near. He has been in area for a while but not able to get any shots, just lucky today, but wouldn't like to lug the tripod and this lens around to long.
