Easyjet and camera's

Flying tommorrow morning I'm only aloud 5kg , camera in bag is over 5kg, can I carry camera around my neck?:shrug:

Easyjet dont have a weight limit on overhead luggage, they are only bothered by size.

I've just came back from Malta on Sleazyjet, they didn't even weigh my bag that would have deffo been more than 5kg.
 
Are you sure Chris ? on my boarding pass it says 5kg max
 
I flew Thomas Cook a few weeks ago and was a bit worried about the 5kg allowance - then more so when the check in girl was weighing everyone's hand luggage in the queue ahead and making people repack stuff in their case. Fortunately she didn't weigh mine, perhaps because it was just a smallish rucksack (not a camera one).

Only problem I've noticed with Easyjet was a friend whose bag did fit the size measurements but sideways - ie the handle was not at the top when placed in the rack. So they tried to insist she checked it in (there had been no problem on the outward flight). This was at the boarding gate, on a day when the winds were 70mph, lots of flights were being cancelled and there was a plane full of rather nervous passengers all being held up by it - the member of staff eventually let her on with the bag.

I noticed Ryanair had started measuring all the carry on baggage last time I went away. :bang: Luckily my backpack with all my gear in was nodded through as I was putting it into the measuring cage (though I think it was small enough) because it was taking too long to get people through. :bonk:
 
I use Easy Jet serveral times a year and take my Slingshot 102 filled with camera and len's and have put this into another bigger bag. I have never had hand luggage weighed. You will be fine imo :)
