Yes
any good? something like this:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI....Track=true&ssPageName=VIP:Watchlink:middle:uk

to start me off.
And this seems really cheap also:
http://www2.westfalia.net/shops/too...htm?vbSESSID=3d79e07007b8fd692ad3e20db67005cb
£15 delivered.

Should I be wary? I'm on quite a limited budget you see, about £30 tops.
How about that light tent and some ordinary lamps from the DIY shop or whatever.

edit: or the light tent and two of these? http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=222896

I have one of those ebay ones. It's great!

The only caveat regarding using worklamps (other than the wb) is that they get very hot, so diffusing them with anything like paper or a sheet or shower curtain is a no-no unless you enjoy regular visits from the fire brigade

brilliant, cheers! I shall be purchasing that one then

Yeah - they're fine - http://www.talkphotography.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=23758&highlight=saleen

Try and buy some daylight lamps. And you'll need a tripod or high ISO unless you've got very good natural light

Right ok, daylight lamps? is that a specific type of lamp or bulb? Otherwise a trip to wilkinsons or homebase may be in order.
Oh yea I've got a tripod as well so thats ok

haha well I'll bear that in mind. Our block of flats for some reason always seems to have the fire brigade round, probably lots of false alarms

£1.99 in asda :D

and a tenner in petrol to get to my nearest asda :(
tesco? might give em a tinkle
are the ones in asda screw or bayonet?

took delivery of two 32w 5000k 'photo-light' bulbs today, and they are huge  I bought two lamps from Wilkinsons for £3.50 each, and the bulbs just about fitted in them haha.

So now I just need to get the creases out of the backgrounds for the tent, any ideas?

I've never bothered. Probably depends on where you position the lights though. I am usually trying for all round flat light when using the light tent.

An iron?

Or just play around - creases may not matter

it'd have to be on a VERY low heat then because its nylony stuff.
Ah ok, I took a few shots that came out pants because I can't find my tripod atm (don't ask) but I could certainly see the creases.
Ah let me explain, when I say creases, they are from where the backgrounds have been folded up into little squares, so they are big ones like creases down the front of trousers, not the little ones like in un-ironed clothes (nice analogy there huh )

Had mine about a week now. Very impressed for the money. Was gonna make something with a cardboard box but whatever materials I would have had to buy for the backgrounds would have cost as much.
