Just been looking on Ebay as I have a couple of items on there and to my suprise someone else is using my pictures to sell the same item:thinking:

Anyone else come across this before?

O and the highest bidder on my auction has also bid on the other one.

are they online pictures? If so change the URL...how very dare they!!

Hosted from Photobucket Marianne.

have they used the photo as a linked image or have they saved it to their computer? If it is linked, you can rename the file your end, reupload it to photobucket and then use the new URL for your photo and their link will be lost as you could delete that image from photobucket. Right click on their image and view its properties, it should tell you if it has your URL ;)

If they're linking to pictures that you're hosting, change the pictures to read "I AM GAY" or something. Winner.

It's quite common actually. I've seen a couple of cases where the image url has been changed for some really gross porn. Not something you can do with Photobucket though, or that you should of course.

Right clicked the image on there Ebay and it has my URL.

If I rename them I will then have to edit My ebay to resubmit the pictures yes?

its theft innit? Your image being shown somewhere else without your permission, nawty to the max innit!

Change the url, or watermark it, its the only way.

funny that PE, because i was looking on there tonight and thought i recognised the photo, is it the Rossi picture, anyway its a guy riding a yellow bike, nearly bid on it.

No Steve its a Film camera I am selling.

Having a problem trying to revise my item (pictures) as it has bids on it already:thinking:

dont revise the item, revise the picture and upload a new one with the same name - provided you've linked to the image rather than uploaded from your pc that is.

I did the listing using Turbo lister and the pictures are in the discription so I am unable to edit as I have bids on the item.

ahh right :(

i always link to an image on my webspace so that I can change the photo if needed.

I will know now for future listings(y)

I managed to figure out how to edit my picture and upload the image to the same URL........he now has my username on his/my pictures.

you can also report his listing to Ebay, as they don't allow users to use someone elses pictures, the fact that it now has your username on it is more evidence.

I emailed the seller asking how he would llike to pay me for the use of my pictures.........his reply was I will consult my solicitor:thinking:

I have since reported him.

Hope I don't come across as being petty, it's just that things like this **** me off:shrug:

not at all mate, its your picture, and he has used it without permission

P-E as far as I see it, it's breach of copyright, image usage without prior consultation/permission, you've every right to be ****** off. You're not being petty at all I think I'd feel the same as you if I found some one using one of my images without asking me first. I hope you get it sorted out without to much trouble.

He'll consult his solicitor? Cheeky sod! :cautious:

 Consult his solicitor indeed...

Whenever I put images on eBay I tend to watermark them with my name across faded....

You're right to be annoyed mate, I think it would **** us all off too.

Don't get mad, get even, as has been suggested already, change the picture with that address to something like I am a thieving git! and let him use that.

Put some other pictures of your own up and if he steals them do the same again.

oh yes and give us the link to his auction and we can start sending him questions about his ancestry or sumat ;)

Well arrived home to find that the seller has ended his auction 'due to an error in the listing'.

Have to remember to watermark my images from now on:bonk:

Thanks to all for the advice.(y)

result then!

good result there P-E (y)
