Equipment PanasonicHC-X900m camcorder and editing suit Adobe Premier Elements 14
Now before i start I don't know if this will apply to all camcorders but does to mine or on other video editing suites
Problem was editing a video on the above and although had the video I had no sound. I must have tried everything on the editing suit to find the problem but it was not on that but on the camcorder.
On the above camcorder there is surround sound -zoom mike-focus mike and stereo mike settings.I had it on zoom mike and that was the problem. Video showed up in editing suite but no sound. Switched over to stereo mike then video and sound in editing both worked.
So next thing was to risk using an extrnl mike (sennheiser MKE400 ) and try that. With the camcorder in stereo mode and the mike on again everything worked ok
A strange one yes but worth a mention and glad i found out before the hols
