You can still set the apperture on your lens by:
Setting the desired apperture incamera (AV mode), then press the DOF preview button (the apperture blades will close down), and while pressing DOF button, unmount the lens (not really unmount but unscrew to the point that you're ready to to just pull it away - then switch off camera). Thats it job done, now mount the tube on the camera then the lens to the tube.

Heres a little trick you can use with the Canon's.
In macro you don't need to use auto focus you tend to use manual focus most of the time then just rock backwards and forwards to get the object sharp.
This way you've saved yourself £110 that you can put towards a new 1:1 lens![]()
