Critique Eilean Donnan Castle, Scotland

What a great image. great colour and composition.

I wonder if you could pull a touch more detail from the shadows on the bridge to lead into the castle a bit more. I think I would maybe crop the top ever so slightly to make more of a feature of the clear sky on the left.

If you had a tripod at the time you could have dropped the ISO and stopped down a bit for a longer exposure but I like the clarity of the water/reflection in your shot and smoothing it might have changed the feel.

Lovely image

How long afterwards did the lights go out?

Hi Thanks for the comments.

CAMRAman - I used a tripod but yeah will bear the idea in mind if I am up that way again. I agree I thin the ripple adds to the picture.

BAWbee - The lights stay on all night I believe and once the castle is closed the gates are open allowing entry onto the island at night.

I have taken quite a few shots there but never at night , looks amazing.

Lovely composition, colour and reflection (y)
The only thing that lets this down slightly for me is the noise/grain

Rather nice, I like it because it's a wee bit different.
