Emergency advice needed on Tamron 10-24mm

Been given an opportunity to purchase a Tamron SP 10-24mm for £160 everything seems okay but I am wondering if it is actually this one http://www.tamron.com/en/photolens/di_II_wide/b001.html

or if Tamron made another 10-24mm lens in its past.

It has been used on a Canon 550D previously but I only have 30 minutes left to tell the guy otherwise he will sell it to his mate. Apparently it has come from his recently deceased father and he doesn't know jack about cameras.

As far as I know they have only made one 10-24 and it's best avoided, not one of their best by any means. Save your 160 towards something decent would be my advice.

£1.60 would be a fair price. They are appalling.

The guy was applying pressure to you which is very rude in its own right

Well this was three days ago and I have been contemplating ever since. In all honesty I am considering buying it just for it to go on eBay. Saw a few earlier go for £250.

Had it and was very happy with it. £160 is a bargain.
