Can anyone give me any advice on the best way to maintain equipment? I'm thinking in terms of cleaning lenses etc. What do you use, how often do you do it?

I secon the rocket blower, zeiss lens wipes are pretty good as well if your lens is really dirty but to be honest mine don't get too dirty I mainly use them for my glasses
Also spudz cleaning clothes are handy you can clip them to your bag so not to loose them.

Camera kit doesn't really need any routine maintenance, if a lens is dirty you clean it using a cloth or your t-shirt, if the camera sensor gets dirty you clean it but otherwise not a lot needs doing really.
A rocket blower is useful to own though as you can use it to blow dust off the sensor as well as the lenses.
