Error 01 when using Sigma lens...

I was using my Sigma 70-200 f2.8 yesterday and after a few shots it threw up Error 01 - Cant communicate with camera. All other lenses were fine. I tried cleaning the points with alcohol to no avail. The lens fits on, autofocuses fine and fires off the first shot (shot records) and throws up this error after which the shutter will not fire anymore shots until I turnn cam off and on.

I can take it to get looked at, or claim on insurance but anyone had a similar situation and can give me a ballpark to get this sort of problem fixed?

Have you tried shooting at F2.8?

If it works then you probably have an issue with the Iris in the lens - which makes the £123 above spot on!
 
Thanks chaps... Yup, just tested and the lens shoots fine down to f8, then error... Looks like it's the Sigma repair route then (y)
