Essex - any nice place to visit?

Besides Constable country, what's a nice place to visit in Essex? Some where outdoors, with beautiful scenery, maybe a hill to hike up, or something?

I'm trying to find some place to visit on Sunday with a couple of friends. They live near Stansted airport, so actually anywhere within an hours drive from there is ok.

Hatfield Forest is great for walking and stuff ... no hills mind but plenty of places to get lost ! And it is close to Stansted too !

Be very cautious about heading north up the M11 on Sunday as I seem to recall there is an airshow at Duxford. That usually creates a certain level of chaos!

Epping Forest is getting a lot of mention. But apparently it will be packed with the nice weather.
