Basically I've been doing a bit of event photography as of late and want to start doing more, but I'm a bit limited at the moment with IQ as I'm only using my kit 18-135 lens.

I have been looking at 24-70 and then a 70-200 aswell.

Any suggestions/improvements of ideas?

Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers

budget first and then what is it you feel is missing, just IQ, reach, speed, AF speed, do you use the wide end a lot?

The 24-70/70-200 combo would cover 99% of event requirements normally.

basically just over £1000, and i shoot vary varied shots really, depends what events I'm shooting to whether I shoot wide or zoomed. I do try and stay as far away from the action as possible when I zoom though to avoid disturbing the participants. The main issue is IQ with the 18-135 though.

You need more than double that figure if you get Nikon lenses which is what I'd recommend. IQ costs money.

I was looking at the Sigma alternatives, but I wanna try them out first.

Mostly I've been shooting private parties for companies, and I've also been asked to shoot a couple of car meets (not races, just people turning up with half nice cars)
